Kia ora members,
We’re pleased to announce that following the PM’s announcement of a shift to Level 2 we plan to reopen the ‘gym section’ of the club at 6:00am on Friday 15th May when we return to normal hours.
The team is all back on board and has been working hard to whip the club into shape with a deep cleanse of the facilities and an overall touch up of the equipment and paint.
Upon opening the club we will be implementing various strategies to ensure that we comply with the government guidelines that are in place to keep our staff and club members safe. These will include,
Social Distancing
We do not anticipate issues complying with this guideline as we have always offered a boutique experience however we will be actively managing numbers within the various gym spaces by;
· Disabling cardio equipment to ensure the spacing
· Limiting class numbers in small group training (RHQ)
· Indicating appropriate spacing in the changing facilities
Within the club, we ask that you maintain the 1-metre rule where possible.
Contact Tracking – Tracing
We will continue with our normal practice of checking/scanning members into the club, to ensure its effectiveness on your first visit back to the club we will ask you to record your cell number and email address so we maintain an accurate database.
Good Hygiene
Our members already have great hygiene practices; carrying sweat towels and wiping down equipment after use are a standard expectation so we just need to take another couple of extra precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy.
It starts with, if you have been sick in the last 2 weeks or been in contact with someone who is, have a cough cold, sore throat, fever, please stay at home!
Other strategies we will implement include
- On entry to the club, you will need to sanitise your hands
- You will be given a cloth to use for the entirety of your workout which can be thrown in the bin before you exit the gym. (Spray bottles of sanitiser throughout the club)
- You will be required to sanitise the equipment you use.
- Liquid hand sanitiser will be available throughout the gym.
The Swimming Pool
The pool will reopen Wednesday 20th May as we have taken the opportunity to undertake some repair work that became apparent when we decommissioned the pool during the lockdown. This work requires a curing process that delays the filling of the pool.
Once the pool reopens we will have a limit of 2 people per lane.
Finally, thanks in advance for your continued support during these challenging times; we’re not out of the woods yet so please follow our guidelines for reopening the club and talk to us if there is anything that we can help you with including a programme that you can do from home if you find you are, like many, not in a full ‘return to the office’ status.
